Article 5: Amending the Constitution
According to the constitution in order to amend the constitution there are two main steps to take. First, either a two thirds vote is held by both houses of congress( senate and house of representatives.) Or a constitutional convention is called by congress to try and get two thirds of the states to agree. The next step is three fourths of the 50 states legislatures agree with the amendment. Or three fourths of special constitutional conventions are called by the 50 states. In order for the new amendment to completely pass one of each of the two steps must be completed. However what I think they should change is give a lot more power to the president. I think the new way should be if the president wants to change something there is only one step left. He/she then has the only the senate vote on it. If 75 of the 100 senators(three fourths,) then it is added to the constitution. However if less than 75 senators vote for it it then goes to the house of representatives. If the house of representatives vote and 90% or more vote for it, it becomes part of the constitution, if not it doesn't.
